Website audit

The problem
Most websites are not broken. They are invisible.
A site that loads, looks reasonable and has been live for three years can still be earning nothing, and the reasons are rarely visible from the front. It might be blocking crawlers in a robots file nobody has read since launch. It might be four seconds slow on the mid-range Android most of its traffic arrives on. It might be publishing structured data that describes two different companies. It might be ranking for its own name and nothing else, while the queries its customers actually type go to a competitor who answered them.
None of that shows up in a visual review, and none of it is fixed by a redesign. It is found by looking, which is what this is.
What we check
What an SEO audit covers
Technical health and crawlability
Whether search engines can reach, render and index what you publish: crawl errors, blocked resources, redirect chains, canonical conflicts, duplicate URLs, an accurate sitemap, and a robots file that says what you think it says. Content on a site a crawler struggles with earns nothing, so this is first.Core Web Vitals and real-world speed
Measured on a mid-range Android over a throttled connection rather than on a desktop, because that is the device most of your Indian traffic arrives on. Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift, with the specific elements causing each named.On-page SEO and metadata
Titles and descriptions page by page: which are missing, which are duplicated, which are truncated in results, and which are written for a crawler rather than for the person deciding whether to click. Heading hierarchy, internal linking and anchor text alongside.Structured data and the entity graph
What your schema.org markup actually says about your business, whether it validates, whether it contradicts the visible page, and whether it resolves you to one entity or several. Duplicate or conflicting Organization nodes are common and they quietly split whatever authority a domain has earned.Keyword position and the gap
What you currently rank for, what you are close to ranking for, and what your competitors hold that you do not. The output is not a list of high-volume terms — it is the queries that are winnable and worth winning for your business specifically.AI answer-engine readability
Whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers can read your site, what they currently say about your business, and what is stopping them citing you. This is the newest half of the audit and the half almost nobody else is checking.Local search and profile consistency
Whether your name, address and phone number are byte-identical across your site, your structured data and your Google Business Profile. A one-line disagreement between those three reads as three different businesses to a resolver, and it is one of the most common and most fixable local ranking problems in India.
What you get
A plan you can act on this week.
- A written report, not a dashboard export
- Findings in plain language, each one naming the page and the specific problem rather than a category. Nothing generated by a scanner and pasted in unread.
- Ordered by what it is worth, not by severity colour
- A prioritised list where the top items are the ones that will move something. Most automated audits produce four hundred warnings and no order of work, which is the same as producing nothing.
- Effort against each item
- Whether a fix is a ten-minute content edit, a developer change, or a structural rebuild — so you can decide what to do in-house and what to commission.
- Yours to take anywhere
- The report is a deliverable, not a sales document. You can implement it yourself, hand it to your existing developer, or ask us to. We would rather you had a plan than a retainer you did not need.
Cost
Quoted per site, after we have looked at it.
- What moves the number
- How many pages there are, how many languages and locations the site covers, whether there is a product or service catalogue behind it, and how much history is in Search Console. A five-page brochure site and a multi-location bilingual catalogue are genuinely different amounts of reading.
- You get the figure before you commit
- Send us the URL. We look at the shape of the site, come back with a fixed price and a written scope, and you decide from there. Nothing starts until that is agreed.
- Two to four weeks, typically
- Most of that is not scanning, which is fast. It is the reading — your pages, your competitors' pages and your search data — to work out which problems are costing you something and which are merely untidy.
- Implementation is quoted separately, afterwards
- If you want us to do the work the report recommends, that is an SEO and GEO retainer priced after you have seen the findings. Never bundled in before, because then the audit is a sales document rather than a deliverable.
What we will not do
The part worth reading before you buy any audit.
- We will not promise a ranking. Nobody controls positions, and an audit that opens by guaranteeing one is selling a schedule it cannot keep.
- We will not pad the report. If your site is in good shape we will say so, hand over a short document, and charge the lower end of the band — a finding count is not a measure of value.
- We will not recommend buying links, building doorway pages for cities you do not operate in, or any other tactic whose penalty risk lands on your domain rather than ours.
- We will not make the audit conditional on hiring us afterwards. It is a deliverable you own, and we would rather you had a plan than a retainer you did not need.
Questions
What people ask about audits.
Is this an SEO audit or a website audit?
Both, because on a real site they are the same investigation. An SEO audit that ignores page speed, crawl errors and structured data is looking at half the reasons a page does not rank; a technical audit that ignores what the site ranks for cannot say which of its findings matter. So one review covers technical health, on-page SEO, keyword position, local profile consistency and whether AI answer engines can read and cite you — and orders the findings by what they are worth, not by which discipline they came from.
What does a website audit cost?
Quoted per site, because the work scales with what is there — a five-page brochure site and a multi-location, multi-language catalogue are genuinely different amounts of reading. Send us the URL and you get a figure and a scope before you commit to anything. Small single-page sites are usually not worth auditing, and we will say so rather than invoice for it.
How is this different from the free audits agencies send?
A free audit is an automated scan whose purpose is to produce enough red warnings to justify a contract. It cannot tell you which of its four hundred findings matters, because no one read them. This is a person going through your site, your competitors and your search data, and writing down what to do first and why — and it ends with a document you own rather than a proposal.
Do we have to hire you to implement the fixes?
No, and the report is written on the assumption that you might not. Each item carries the effort involved so your own developer can pick it up. If you do want us to do the work it becomes an SEO and GEO retainer, quoted separately after you have seen the findings — not before.
What is an AI answer-engine check, and why does it matter now?
A growing share of commercial research now happens inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity rather than on a results page, and those systems can only recommend a business whose site they can read, parse and attribute. We check what they currently say about you, whether your content is structured in a form they can extract, and what is stopping them citing you. Almost no audit in this market covers it yet.
How long does the audit take?
Two to four weeks. Most of that is not the scanning, which is fast — it is the reading: going through your actual pages, your competitors' pages, and your Search Console data to work out which problems are costing you something and which are merely untidy.
What do you need from us to start?
Read access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics if you have them, your Google Business Profile, and a note on which two or three competitors you care about. We can audit without any of it — the technical and structured-data half needs nothing but the public site — but the keyword and position half is much sharper with it.
Not sure whether an audit is what you need? Tell us the site and we will look at it for ten minutes and tell you honestly whether there is enough here to be worth paying for.
Where to next
- Website SEO audit, online
The automated version: a technical crawl, speed tests and a prioritised fix list in your account, from ₹699.
- SEO and GEO management
The ongoing version: the work the audit recommends, done month after month and measured.
- Next.js website development
Where the audit concludes the site cannot be fixed and should be rebuilt — which we say only when it is true.
- Why your website is not ranking
The most common causes, written out in full, free to read before you commission anything.
- What GEO is
Why being cited by an AI assistant is now a separate discipline from ranking in search results.
Send us the URL.
We will tell you what we find, what it is costing you, and what to do first. If there is not enough wrong to justify an audit, we will say that instead.
